Review by Diane Tishkoff

The album Russian Festival by Khachaturian Borodin Gliere Glinka RimskyKorsakov, CSR Symphony Orchestra (Bratislava), Anthony Bramall is an impressive collection of classical music pieces that showcase the rich musical heritage of Russia. The album features some of the most renowned composers of the country, including Khachaturian, Borodin, Gliere, Glinka, and RimskyKorsakov, and is performed by the talented CSR Symphony Orchestra (Bratislava) under the direction of Anthony Bramall.

The album opens with Khachaturian's "Masquerade Suite: Waltz," a lively and exuberant piece that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The orchestra's performance is flawless, with each instrument blending seamlessly with the others to create a beautiful and cohesive sound. Borodin's "In the Steppes of Central Asia" follows, transporting the listener to the vast and rugged landscapes of the region.

Other highlights of the album include Gliere's "Russian Sailors' Dance," a rousing and energetic piece that showcases the orchestra's dynamic range, and RimskyKorsakov's "Capriccio Espagnol," a colorful and vibrant piece that captures the essence of Spanish music.

Throughout the album, the CSR Symphony Orchestra (Bratislava) and Anthony Bramall demonstrate their mastery of the classical repertoire, delivering powerful and emotive performances that do justice to the composers' works. The recording quality is also excellent, allowing the listener to fully appreciate the nuances and subtleties of the music.
