Review by Molly Flatt

Joe King Carrasco & The Crowns' album "Wanna Get That Feel Again" is a lively and energetic collection of songs that will have listeners tapping their toes and dancing in their seats. The album features Carrasco's signature Tex-Mex sound, blending rock and roll with Latin rhythms and instrumentation.

The opening track, "Party Weekend," sets the tone for the album with its upbeat tempo and catchy chorus. Other standout tracks include "Jalapeno Con Big Red," which showcases Carrasco's playful lyrics and accordion skills, and "Buena," a romantic ballad with a touch of reggae influence.

Throughout the album, Carrasco's vocals are full of personality and charm, and The Crowns' instrumentation is tight and well-executed. The production quality is top-notch, with each instrument and vocal track clear and distinct.

In 1980 Joe King Carrasco formed the Crowns featuring Vox organ-driven Tex-mex pop and soon the band was playing chic New York venues and generating lines around the block. Signing with England's legendary Stiff Records, he toured extensively consistently delivering high energy performances. His song Party Weekend is still known as the quintessential party anthem and made him a household name to MTV viewers across the world. In 2009 he released "Rancho No Tengo"- a movie and soundtrack that he wrote and directed. He sang "Adios Mexico" with members of the Texas Tornados, in a 2010 tribute to one of his early heroes the late Doug Sahm.
