Review by Sangay Khandu

The album Quatuor N14 Opus 131 Quatuor N16 Opus 135 by Beethoven Quatuor Végh is a masterpiece of classical music. The quartet is made up of four talented musicians who play with precision and passion. The album features two of Beethoven's most famous quartets, Opus 131 and Opus 135, and the quartet does an excellent job of capturing the essence of both pieces.

The first quartet, Opus 131, is a complex and emotional piece that requires a great deal of technical skill from the performers. The Quatuor Végh rises to the challenge, delivering a performance that is both powerful and nuanced. The second quartet, Opus 135, is a more lighthearted piece that showcases Beethoven's sense of humor. The quartet brings out the playful nature of the piece, making it a joy to listen to.

Throughout the album, the Quatuor Végh demonstrates their mastery of their instruments and their deep understanding of Beethoven's music. They play with a sense of unity and cohesion that can only come from years of playing together. The recording quality is excellent, capturing every nuance of the quartet's performance.

German composer and pianist, born in 1770 (baptized 17 December 1770) in Bonn, Germany and died 26 March 1827 in Vienna, Austria. A crucial figure in the transition between the Classical and Romantic eras in classical music. Beethoven led Viennese Classicism to its highest development and paved the way for Romantic music. Beethoven was the eldest son of a singer in the Kapelle of the Archbishop-Elector of Cologne and grandson of the Archbishop's Kapellmeister. He moved in 1792 to Vienna, where he had some lessons from Haydn and others, quickly establishing himself as a remarkable keyboard-player and original composer. By 1815 increasing deafness made public performance impossible and accentuated existing eccentricities of character, patiently tolerated by a series of rich patrons and his royal pupil the Archduke Rudolph. Beethoven did much to enlarge the possibilities of music and widen the horizons of later generations of composers. To his contemporaries he was sometimes a controversial figure, making heavy demands on listeners both by the length and by the complexity of his writing, as he explored new fields of music.
