Review by Sandra Possing

Telepaths Within Nin Edin by Absu is a powerful album that showcases the band's unique blend of black metal, thrash, and traditional Celtic music. The album is a concept album that tells the story of a group of telepaths who are trying to overthrow a tyrannical ruler in the city of Nin Edin.

The album features some of the band's most impressive musicianship to date, with fast and intricate guitar riffs, thundering drums, and intense vocals. The songs are dynamic and varied, with moments of blistering speed and more melodic passages that showcase the band's Celtic influences.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Cyntexive Discharge," a blistering thrash song that features some of the album's most impressive guitar work. Another standout track is "Ontologically, It Became Time & Space," a more atmospheric song that features some haunting clean vocals and a memorable guitar melody.

American black metal band with a sound informed both by thrash and death metal. Formed in Dallas, TX in 1989, the band's name was originally Dolmen but this was soon changed to Absu. The band was put on hiatus as guitarist and bassist Equitant Ifernain and Shaftiel departed, citing musical differences and disinterest in the band, respectively. Drummer Proscriptor injured his hand thereafter, requiring surgery, healing and therapy. In 2007, Proscriptor resurrected Absu, announcing a new line-up and a new album. On January 27, 2020, Proscriptor announced that he has decided to permanently dissolve Absu. After a series of legal disputes over the rights to the band name, Proscriptor then formed .

Sound quality is 0/10. It's broken beyond any recognition. How can anyone like this broken piece of something that should be a decent song.

This sounds so bland and indistinguishable from most other modern metal, unlike old Absu.

I love this video. It has elements of Lovecraft's "Nyarlathotep" as well as Chambers' "The King in Yellow". I kind of wish the assistants had shown a hint of inhumanity before they stepped through the doors, like subtle waxen masks, similar to Lovecraft's "The Festival".

I was really impressed by the director's sense of capturing the atmosphere, until now, I think the only Japanese horror film could do... and the efficiency of sound fits really well in the image here.
